New system for iPod / CD quality sound

Hey guys, I'm not completely new to the way a sound system works because I install sound systems in churches and houses for a living, but I need help deciding what I can do with my Jeep as far as sound systems go.

I'm not into heavy or loud rap music but I will occasionally want to thump to some good (funny) songs.

For a head unit i want something that I can connect an Mp3 player to easily through bluetooth but also CDs and maybe a connection to plug in an iPod in case my friend's iPod doesn't have bluetooth and I don't want to switch adapters.

Overall I'm looking for sound quality because I listen to Rock and don't plan on thumping it too loud. I want to be able to do it occasionally but the quality isn't really an issue as it gets loud because it won't happen very often.

Planning on replacing my speakers and installing "tweeters" (not too sure what those are). Also I'm thinking an amp that is probably in the 1k - 1.2k range. Don't know anything about Subwoofers but i will want one because bass is definately a must for it to sound good.

One thing i haven't thought about is power for the system because I don't know how it's usually done but I'm planning on getting an AC to DC power adapter to plug in my phone, iPod, and possible a computer if i can find one with three DC ports (don't know if this is possible or not).

There is no budget but don't go overboard. Headunit, speakers, tweeters, amp, sub and power supply.

I'll appreciate any replies.

For your IPOD, look into the Alpine IPOD only head units and make certain that all of your music is in Apple Lossless format. IIRC, the Alpine IPOD only units take the music from the IPOD in digital format versus relying on the IPOD's DA convertor. Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong about the Alpine iDA series.

As for the rest of the stuff you are looking for, I suggest searching around on this forum.

That is incorrect. You cannot bypass the iPod DACs, I've asked myself directly, as that is what I would have preferred to do myself. Maybe that will be possible later on, as there are home Hi-Fi stuff that can bypass the iPod DACs.

I stand corrected then. I was told that it stays all digital with the iDA series, but I never saw where that was cast in stone by Alpine.
