TC Sounds will be undergoing a pricing restructure over the next 3 weeks. Prices will increase 30-50% on every product. This will be the last time to own the world's best subwoofers for unbeatable low prices. "
I seen that. I need to know ASAP if the 15" will really output that much more then the 12" using the same amount of power. I like the 12" cause it would take up less space. I dont like eyesoars and neither does the girl lol

12" TC3k DVC vs. 15" TC3k DVC;
Ballpark;

The 15" will be 4-5dB louder, sealed or ported. The 15" will go lower.
hmmmmmmmmmmmm and I really dont want any regrets so its looking like the 15" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I am mostly trying to get more 20-25 hertz bass for movie watching, the towers I got now drop off bad below 30 hertz or so

I think I'm gonna sell all my car audio shit and get a new 5.1 setup from SVS...
nG
Thats what I did, I don't regret it at all....

Since I am home more then I ever will be in my truck. Now if you commute like 2 hours one way every day then it would be a bad idea lol But I can drive to work and back each way for 30 minutes and not think about booming even a simple cd player does it for me in car. Plus it makes me enjoy my home setup more, in car sounds like crap and in house does ok. but a worlds difference lol Now I do miss the bass as to why I need more!

The best part about active with the DCX is that if you feel the urge you can go whip up a speaker design in the woodshop and not even have to worry about designing/building a crossover. Just plug it in, change some settings on the DCX and your ready to rock.
How easy is that to configure?

Since I don't have the ability to design a crossover, this seems like a pretty good deal. I could swap drivers in and out to try different things.

I guess I would need to figure out how to get my reciever to play "full range" with no crossing over via internal settings.

Is it okay to not use a rack with this crossover?

It takes just a little bit to get use to the navigation through the menus but other than that its easy to use. The only bad side of going active is that you have to have an amp for every channel, for a 3-way active setup you need three seperate amps.

When I run active I have my preamp, DCX, an ART SLA-1 amp, QSC 1.0HV amp, and a QSC CX902 amp, all for 2 speakers and a woofer.

If you plan on doing much DIY it is a GREAT investment just due to the ease of playing with it and finding what crossover frequencies you like the best.

You don't need a rack to use it either, just set it somewhere, all a rack is is a easy mounting solution for equipment.

Dang this sucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif The only thing limiting right now on what I do is available ac outlets I have one dedicated 20 amp and a shared 15 amp outlet, but I dunno if thats enough anymore for what my future plans are calling for.
My towers are rated at 8 amp each and the new plate amp is 10 and plus the receiver and tv etc etc and when I add another amp I am gonna be pushing it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Outlets take about an hour to install. Just get a decent grade hospital outlet and run additional wire to your breaker box. As long as you aren't exceeding the max capacity of the whole box it should be a non-issue.
