New sundown subs

Really the SA's still preform well with lower wattage? Since they take the same box size my only limiter is rms, if 600 is enough for th SA10 ide rather take that then the SD
Any reason? I would think the slims would do better in your enclosure restrictions, and Jacob said they would perform a bit better sealed. They'd both do fine on 600w, but it just sounds like the slim really would fit your needs better. But if you do like the regular SA series, I've heard many people satisfied with them at or below 600w.

ok thanks guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I like the slims but im just scared im not going to get the output im looking for. Im looking to slightly exceed my JBL in basically all areas, really hoping to get louder 50-70Hz range. I may get a SD12 and seal it or aero port a SD10(hoping an aero tube will kill my port noise), decisions decisions

But with a 500rms the SD should be a bit louder in most ares then the 400rms JBL anyways right?

In all consideration, i could fit a proper box for the SA10 or the SD12 into my car. I just want to know whats going to have best responce 30-70Hz, SA10 would be ported at 32-42 depending on what program reads or possibly in oversized sealed box. SD12 would be sealed or up to 1.6cu or so before port, opinions?

I think both would work well. You're going to experience more output with either drivers I think. If anything, I think I'd expect the SD to be more sensitive to the lower power level, but that's just spitballing on my part. And you'd have more internal volume to work with for a wider effective frequency range.

Then i guess ill go SD12, and seal it up. U think i should really use a 1cu box? I was thinking 1.5cu or so becuase i want my higher bass to hit hard as well as the low stuff

That, I wouldn't be able to tell ya. I mean, I would think a little bit bigger would be ok, and achieve your goals better, but you'd have to talk to a designer about that, cus I really don't know anything about enclosures.

lol i figured if i ended up getting it ill just stay at my builders while he runs his program to see what kind of responce ill get outa differnt sizes

The larger the sealed box, the lower the tuning. So no it will not hit the higher notes better. That's a 50% increase in box size, which is ridiculous. If u want a little more lower extension, maybe go with 1.15 cubes or 1.2.
