What causes bad CD ripping?

I have a couple of CDs that just won't rip to MP3 completely. One or 2 songs on each CD comes out as static. I've used both iTunes and Media Player, with and without auto-correction with the same results. The thing is both CDs play perfectly in my CD players, including the HU in my car.

I like having 30 CDs on a flash drive... Any tips on how to get a perfect rip?

Thanks

What CDR software are using. And how fast are you burning? What speed do you have the burner set to burn at. The slower the burn speed the better the cd is.

Not sure what you mean by speed... I have bit rate set at 256. The CDR uses standard Windows drivers, digital audio is disabled so it should be in analog mode. Not too many other options. Maybe it's time for a new CDR/W in my PC.. anybody have recommendations?
