New subwoofer

Hey guys I have an alpine mrp-M500 amp right now and I am either looking to get a sub to go along with this amp or upgrade to a better amp so I can run a kicker L7. The reason I am interested in the kicker L7 is because I am wanting to run a square ported box to sit on my backseat and just take up one seat. It is really easy to find this type of box specifically designed for the L7. I am also looking for other sub suggestions besides the L7. I know a guy locally that could probably build me a box but idk if he knows how to tune them. I am looking at about 2 ft^3 of airspace. So here are my choices:

1. Keep my amp and get an L7 with a square ported box.

2. Upgrade to a better amp and get an L7 along with a square ported box.

3. Keep my amp and get a cheaper subwoofer that you guys suggest and have someone build me a box.

I hope what i am asking makes sense but I tried to shorten things down so let me know if it doesnt. Thanks I will really appreciate any help.

--keeping that amp

do you want it loud or clean? or a little of both?

loud- get a rockford fosgate p3 15 and port it

clean- get a boston acoustics g5 and seal it, still loud

both- rockford fosgate p3 12 or boston g5 ported, tuned low

Can I fit a p3 into a 2ft^3 box and it still sound good? I had planned on porting whatever sub I got.

I found a hifonics 1606d for $125 so I might just pick it up and run a pioneer pro series sub or a 10" type x if I can find one cheap enough.

get an RD Audio Sonace 12" it will sound really good with that amp and will work well in 2cu ft ported with 20sq in of port tuned close to 35ish hz. itll hit nasty lows and get rediculously loud

Pocahontas. About an hour northwest of jonesboro.

There are two guys in town that build boxes. I know one of the does really good quality but he is really expensive. He quoted one of my friends $150 for a dual 12" rectangular box that is sealed.

I also know another guy that builds them for free if you supply the wood and materials. I dont know about his quality. I have a friend who he made a box for and it was a sealed middle console box that has 3 subs built into it. It looks really good. But since I am wanting to go ported idk if he knows how to tune them good and what not.

yea it would be fine in 2 cubes, and it will still sound great, rockford recommends it be put in 1.79 cubes but i would go bigger such as 2 cubes

Ok well I think im going to buy a hifonics 1606d.

I am looking at an eD 16Ov.2 Subwoofer. Its ideal ported volume is 2.2ft^3. I have found this sub pretty cheap and will probably buy it if you guys think a 2ft^3 enclosure would be big enough for it. Otherwise I will look into an alpine x 10" but they are a lot more expensive. 2 other subs I have looked at is a soundstream t5 and a RD Audio Sonace 12. If I get the eD sub should I get a dual 2 or 4 ohm?

The amp is "rated"

RMS @ 2-Ohm: 1 x 1100-Watt

RMS @ 1-Ohm: 1 x 1600-Watt
