I had a really under powered amp in the jeep so yesterday I picked up an Orion CB1500.1d. Well I just nuked both my 12s. Im looking for either a 15 or 2 12s any recommendations?
What kind of Jeep? How much space are we working with here?I had a really under powered amp in the jeep so yesterday I picked up an Orion CB1500.1d. Well I just nuked both my 12s. Im looking for either a 15 or 2 12s any recommendations?
A single American Bass XFL 12 in 2.0-2.6@32-35 htz will take that amp all day long and sound good doing so.A pair of SQubed HDS210s or HDS312s in 4.0 @ 32htz will do nicely. Ive never blown either brand of sub.. YetI had a really under powered amp in the jeep so yesterday I picked up an Orion CB1500.1d. Well I just nuked both my 12s. I agree on the Xfl -12 for that amp... maybe a pair of Skar Vvx-12 if space is not a problem... tons more to choose from out there... really space is the issue and what are your goals?.. if thats the new model cobalt (even if it's old one) i think ya'll are giving it to much credit.. they do like 700rms at best.. i'd say just 1 sq 2.1 12 or 1 vvx or something in the 600-800rms rangeA single American Bass XFL 12 in 2.0-2.6@32-35 htz will take that amp all day long and sound good doing so.A pair of SQubed HDS210s or HDS312s in 4.0 @ 32htz will do nicely. An XFL 12 or a SQubed HDS310/312 will both do just fine on that amp. They will do just fine on 500 rms to 1750 clean rms from my experience as long as its clean power and the enclosure is built and tuned properly they will do very nice. You dont have to run max RMS power to any sub by specs to get it to sound and perform decently, only if you want to get the most out of it.Coils will last a bit longer by staying cooler as well.Buy for the price range and to me a dammned good dependable woofer, these would be my choice for the moneyif thats the new model cobalt (even if it's old one) i think ya'll are giving it to much credit.. they do like 700rms at best.. i'd say just 1 sq 2.1 12 or 1 vvx or something in the 600-800rms range
yeah i just didn't want peeps to that it was 1500rms., i agree both those subs should do well on it, so would a sundown SA.. i'm debating trying hds 3.1 if they go on sale again but they don't have all the specs up for them.. the model i ran with 800rms (my amp at 1ohm) port velocity it stupid high, my port may not be big enough for it at 1 ohm (in my defense i modeled it for the fu)....An XFL 12 or a SQubed HDS310/312 will both do just fine on that amp. They will do just fine on 500 rms to 1750 clean rms from my experience as long as its clean power and the enclosure is built and tuned properly they will do very nice. You dont have to run max RMS power to any sub by specs to get it to sound and perform decently, only if you want to get the most out of it.Coils will last a bit longer by staying cooler as well.Buy for the price range and to me a dammned good dependable woofer, these would be my choice for the money
