new stereo will not turn on

hi,

So i bought a new car stereo (pioneer deh-2300) to replace the factory original on a toyota corolla. I also bought an iso harness. I put the plugs in and connected the stereo but it did not switch on. I checked all the fuses, all are fine, i checked the red power wire and seems to be right at 12v.

The stereo is fine for sure as i took it to the shop and he checked that it was fine. Also the old stereo was connected with 1 plug , the second plug (having 2 green and 2 purple wires) was not in use.

Any suggestions to what i can try?

Make sure your ground is secure and double check all of your wires. If this doesn't work, get a DMM and check to make sure that 12v wire is live.

Both the yellow and red wires in the pioneer harness need to have 12V relative to the black ground wire.

How did you make the connections Between the pioneer harness and the ISO harness

Could be a bad harness. The ground in the harness for my headunit is very bad, I had to run a separate ground (just took a spare piece of speaker wire and grounded it to the piece of metal I mount my dash kit to. It's ghetto but it works)
