New Stereo Integrity Mag / BM Proto Pictures!

So many people are getting upset about the new mag, not even hearing it to see if there is even a drop off in performace vs. the previous generation, and just going purely based on looks which doesnt mean a thing if your concern is how the music SOUNDS rather than how it looks. It also trips me out how the people who have actually heard it, say that it gets lower and has the same output, but I guess that warrants no merits since everyone appears to be an expert on a product that no one has heard yet. It will be funny what people will say if/when they find out that it performs just as good if not better than the previous, with the mounting options that are now available, and the smaller space it will require. Not to mention the price being half of the old mag
anyone who hates on SI for this new mag is an idiot.
i will believe what nick says over anyone that has anything to do with this topic. and if he says he likes this more than the previous mag, then it is a better speaker.

what is with all you guys and your 'it has to be heavy and take tons of power or its not awesome' problems. im stoked that they could take a sub like the previous gen mag, drop a few inches off the depth, drop a few pounds, and make it perform just as good. all you are doing is complaining that the power REQUIREment went down and the basket is ugly. NOT TO MENTION IT IS HALF THE PRICE due to direct pricing!!

he explicitly stated that it is directly comparable if not better in sound quality, output, and frequency response to the previous generation but it weighs less, and has less mounting depth, and does not NEED as much power.

NEEDING LESS POWER = MORE EFFICIENT = BETTER SPEAKER

those of you who do not comprehend this are beyond any negative description i can come up with.
I heard that output was clearly lower. And how could it not be? A single old Mag 12 could put up low 140s and soak up the power to do it. The new Mag is rated for 800 - 1000 rms. So I was wondering where Nick said that this new Mag will have the same output as the old one. Because if that's the case, count me in on the hype bandwagon as well. I'm not doubting he said it, but can I get a link to where he explicitly said it so I can read up?

I agree that the output on this mag isnt going to be the same as the old mags, because of there rediculous power handling; however, the ability to play loud is still there.

This driver isnt made to burp the 150's like i did or play over 148 like loyd did with music and 5kw, but at 1kw in a 1 cube sealed box I bet it would be louder than the old mag under those same conditions

If you look at my original test results i stated that the mag sealed in 1 cube was as loud as a ported tc-9 based driver on the same power. I stand by that

Is there a dB score to go along with that comparison?

how about that?

if you read what i wrote, it clearly states "COMPARABLE"

and if you read what nick wrote, it was something like this;

The new Mag accomplishes the same output as the previous Mag in small sealed enclosures with 1000 watts and less. The new Mag also plays lower than the previous Mag...and sounds better than the previous Mag. Chaulk up over an inch shallower mounting depth, and the new Mag fits 90% of our customers typical installations better than anything we've previously offered. My main thing is why tote around the extra weight while sacrificing 80% of your trunk when you don't have to?

so think what you will. it was clearly stated.

Is there a dB score to go along with that comparison?
dB scores only tell you the output at one frequency, and the systems are designed just for that. This is not a driver designed for SPL, nor was the previous Mag, so making assumptions on SPL scores is ignorant.

Shit, sorry, I forgot I left. I get dumber every second I'm on this board.

*Note, this doesn't apply to all members on the board, and you know who you are.*

I think I'm going to get a couple of these to put in my 34 cu ft ported wall with 22kw on tap. Think it will have good sq? How will the lows be? Will it be as loud as my 18's? ........... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

NOT EVERYONE WANTS A 12!!! Period. Buy some ten inch chinese baskets and drop your high quality soft parts in them and sell me a pair, Danmit!

this is an ignorant comment. compare rated watt per watt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif nobody is talking about which one soaks more power
