New Stereo Integrity Mag / BM Proto Pictures!

Those prices are NICE. Nice enough to overcome any fugliness //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm sure they will sound awesome.

hehe, u cant see the basket anyway, except in my install to come //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Certainly waiting on pics of this one. Most likely be able to see them when I get my hands on them as well. Plain jane nekid MDF boxes are not for me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

So many people are getting upset about the new mag, not even hearing it to see if there is even a drop off in performace vs. the previous generation, and just going purely based on looks which doesnt mean a thing if your concern is how the music SOUNDS rather than how it looks. It also trips me out how the people who have actually heard it, say that it gets lower and has the same output, but I guess that warrants no merits since everyone appears to be an expert on a product that no one has heard yet. It will be funny what people will say if/when they find out that it performs just as good if not better than the previous, with the mounting options that are now available, and the smaller space it will require. Not to mention the price being half of the old mag

what?
New mag is ~275 shipped

new bm is ~175 shipped if my notes are correct, not set in stone on this one i dont think tho
You weren't right on any of the reasons you stated for the lowered price, but you were correct that they are less expensive than before. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif The reason they're less expensive is because we are going direct. No more dealers. Direct pricing is the only reason the new drivers are less expensive. It actually costs more to build an XBL^2 equipped, enclosed basket subwoofer than it does to build a standard 12-spoke overhung or underhung driver.
The new Mag's are going to be $249 shipped and the BM's are going to be $149 shipped.
Beat me to it; the pricing was reported on Audiojunkies.

anyone who hates on SI for this new mag is an idiot.

i will believe what nick says over anyone that has anything to do with this topic. and if he says he likes this more than the previous mag, then it is a better speaker.

what is with all you guys and your 'it has to be heavy and take tons of power or its not awesome' problems. im stoked that they could take a sub like the previous gen mag, drop a few inches off the depth, drop a few pounds, and make it perform just as good. all you are doing is complaining that the power REQUIREment went down and the basket is ugly. NOT TO MENTION IT IS HALF THE PRICE due to direct pricing!!

he explicitly stated that it is directly comparable if not better in sound quality, output, and frequency response to the previous generation but it weighs less, and has less mounting depth, and does not NEED as much power.

NEEDING LESS POWER = MORE EFFICIENT = BETTER SPEAKER

those of you who do not comprehend this are beyond any negative description i can come up with.

see, this is what irks me, people claim to want something different than the 12 spoke design, but when somebody steps out of the box and its not what there used to seeing its ugly/cheap/chinese
Meh, ya can't please everyone man. I wouldn't let it get to ya.

I see you looking, Nick.

From a consumer standpoint, would it be worth the money to upgrade from 2 BM's, sealed in 1 cube, with 400wrms per sub, to 4 BM's in 2 cubes sealed with 400wrms per sub on tap? Solely in terms of output.

Yea, i had heard both the 149/249 term and i had heard under 275/under 175, I tried to lean toward the safer side until the sub is availible to purchase //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I will be getting on for my g/f truck at the price point, and I'm thinking about starting a thread so we can gauge the demand for the 15". B/c i'd sell my fi Q for a 15 Mag in a heartbeat.

to me they went for looks over performance...
or maybe they were thinking of making a sub more affordable(if they lower the price) and be in LARGE quantities, by that i understand is better to get bigger flashy baskets instead of a bigger motor with greater performances because they will cut down the cost of the motor tooling and they will save even more with those kinds of baskets buy alot more quantities from the manufacturers and make bigger profits...
How would you know that if you've never heard the new sub? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Sounds more like to me they went for SQ than ungodly amounts of power...and really...if I can get the same results off of 500 watts as I can off of 2k...guess which I'll go for?
