Well... They're Dayton's... I'm pretty sure you've heard of the Dayton audio line, been around for quite some time. But their subwoofers are getting quite a bit of praise as of late. Pretty reasonably priced, well dispersed line, good size collection. More geared towards HT builds, but they've gotten raving reports for SQ applications in cars.

Dayton Audio RSS315HO-4 12" Reference HO Subwoofer 4 Ohm 295-466

I haven't updated my build thread, but I've had my Death Penalty 12 in my car and running for a couple of weeks now. I know a lot depends on the enclosure, but I have never heard a cleaner sounding sub. I can do anything with this sub. It gets low and loud, its articulate and fast with no delay or muddiness what so ever. I couldn't be happier. With what you have listed, in my opinion, you can not go wrong with the Icon.

The Daytons are definitely smexy. I love mine. Not all that loud though. Those IA Lethal Injections can get nasty in the right box though. I've seen some do just that. I wouldn't mind running one or two. I voted for those.

But if you want SQ over SPL, Dayton over anything ITT.

Im like mind blown by how many people are saying dayton. I used to be all over this forum 3 years ago and not a single person every said anything about dayton. I suppose I could consider going with 2 of them but would 1200w be too much? Id like to get the most out of my sundown 1200.

I've always been Happy with my Fi Qs and Dayton Titanics. Ran them both sealed and ported before. But why do so many recomend Dayton HOs over the Titanics?

I mean, they're pretty cool, but they eventually hit a glacier and sink, while simultaneously allowing Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have an affair.

I'm very happy with my skar vvx. Not the best sq, but not bad, and they kill the lows. I have 1 12 running off about 800 (haven't set with ddm yet, but it is not even close to getting warm). Box is tuned to 30hz straight form the skar factory and i have no complaints. I would like to hear a Fi Q one of these days though. And since i haven't, i cannot say the vvx is better or worse.

For your application i think it would be a good choice

Dunno if I can bring myself to buying from skar. Thanks for your opinions though. Ill hang out on the thread for a while after work. Have a nice day everyone.

the fi q and ssa icon are the most sq/sql geared drivers listed. There are a decent number of votes for the sa's because there are many nuthuggers for them on these forums. But those are by far the two best options imo.

Edit: btw a tc sounds epic 12 will sound very nice also.

Because they have a higher power handling and would be more ideal for his application.

Yea.... I have no idea why SA's were even listed, let alone why people voted for them >.

The TC Sounds Epics would be a great choice as well though!

Thanks for the info so far guys. Yes the Icon and Q were my top choices just wanted to see what you guys thought. Totally forgot about TC sounds too..
