what does 0hz feel like?
ok im going from a very loud daily setup to a lowprofile sq setup

(2)DLS UR6i -- 2 sets

(2) DLS UR 12

(2) DLS A3 amplifiers

Alpine IVA-W200

have yet to pick a active EQ

should i spend the money and go with a 3way setup up front and leave 2ways in back or go with 2ways all round

with you getting the w200, i would def. recommend teh h701 eq for it, that takes care of any processing you need, as far as comps, you could think about 3 ways up front, really personal preference/install ease.....and you might want to consider dropping the rear fill

h701 is a great recommendation.

any consideration into going active?

rear passengers are in the rear for a reason...you do not care about them. lose the rear speakers and do an active front stage with the 701.........All that matters is how it sounds to you......
x2!

x2. my truck is now active with a 6 channel zapco dc on the highs/mids. they sound so sweet.

^^ Sweet you have the new zapco DC amps? you have the DSP interface and everything?
all from a laptop. i had the first generation dc's a few months ago. a 1000.4 dc and a 1100.1 dc. now i have a 650.6 dc and a 1100.1 dc. the high/mids are active. and they are even louder than before.

Ok say i ran just the Iridium 6.3 up front with 6's in doors 3's and tweets in kicks and i ran active would i have to run 3 seprate amps? or what are my options

well DLS doesnt make a 6ch and i want to keep everything DLS so what other choices do i have and how much better does runnin active sound compaired to passive

what i have noticed is it is a lot cleaner, but i have a lot more tuning than that dls is going to have. i dropped from a 1000.4 dc to a 650.6 dc and it is even louder now. it is way clean to a certain point, which is stupid loud anyway, then it falls off. there is no crossover to absorb the distortion which is what my dealer and i were discussing the other day.

If you have the time to tune it for best performance, including time correction for each driver, EQ for each driver, and crossover freqs, active can sound amazing. If you don't have that kind of time, patience or know-how, I would suggest sticking with the passive x-overs that came with the comp set. The manufacturer typically goes to great lengths to make sure that the levels are balanced and the crossover is smooth and that the crossover frequency is right for the drivers in question.
