new speakers

i got my new speakers in the door and the rear, now i have jl's Z components in the front and xr's in the rear. now all i'm running the speakers in the head unit. my question is that they sound ok but the bass is not good and they are loud but a little rattle comes out of them is that because they need that amp and the sub to make them sound real good and loud ?

Yes, you need an amp to get the full potential out of them.

what kinda rattle u talking about like from the speaker is it a scratching sound or u talking about rattle in ur pannels could be clipping cuz ur using ur head unit to power it all should look into and amp for em
