I recently had my PA vx2200d stolen and decided to sell my 4 old school Concept PT 12s and report the box to get rid of PORT NOISE! I rebuilt the box that held the 4 12s to accomodate 2 15s. It seems I'm missing the punch that I thought I would gain from the air utilization of the larger amount of airspace.
Both boxes 7.5 cubes @ 35hz, subs up, 1 port firing towards rear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Old:
Planet Audio vx2200d
4x Concept PT 12s (~600 watts each)
New:
Temp amp: Boss PowerDrive 2000d (I think, can't dind anythign on my amp for ID inside or out) (guessing ~800rms@1ohm?)
2x Sounstream T5-15s (~400 each?)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I realize I am not getting as much power as I was, but the amp was free. I assume the power based on how my 2200d performed. It takes a bit of work to dim the lights. The bass stops getting louder at a certain point while the subs arent moving much.
Amp recommendation?
Boss amp 1/2 ohm stable?
Boss amp 1/4 ohm stable with low gain?
