Well, the screws holdin my two RE SE 12's in my downfiring box, weren't cutting it. I have looked all over Home Depot and Lowes for a wide course threaded screw that wasnt 6 inches long. Guess I didnt find one in enough time. The subs fell out of the box and I have one fried voice coil and one good voice coil in each sub. So I am looking to change it up.
I am wanting to do a ported setup. Below are the setups I am thinking
3 SA8's
3 Type R 8's
2 RE SE 10's
2 RE SX 10's.
2.92 cu ft before driver displacement and port displacement. .05 for the 8's and .15 for the RE Audio 10's. Will be tuned to 32 hrtz, unless I go with the SX, which I will go for 30 hrz
Now I have had an RE SX15 in my Grand Am GT. The box took up the entire trunk. It was along time ago, but Im pretty sure it was tuned pretty low. Low 30's.. Maybe 33 I think? That sucker was loud as hell, but from my memory, which isnt so great after my car accident, it didnt sound all that musical. Are the new SXX's more daily driver friendly?
I have an Audiopipe 3000D so I will have plenty of power on tap, so power wont be a problem. Just depending on the setup, the gains will obviously turned down quite a bit.
I have exprience with all of the woofers I mentioned above, except the SA8. How many watts are people running with these?
I'm sure everyone on the board will say that SA8 > Type R 8's As well as the SA8 system over the other three, but would like to get people's opinions and why, hopefully based on experience.
Thanks guys!
