New Setup Suggestions, Switching Memphis

A friend of mine currently has an all Memphis setup consisiting of 2 15" M3's ( Not Mojo's) and a PR1000D. He's considering selling his whole system ( highs amp too) and going for a something that sounds good, SQ and still gets loud SPL. Suggestions would be appreciated. He'd like to stick with 2 15's but if he can get good sound quality and still be loud with just 1 thats fine too. Oh and the budget is about $1000 or so.

he must not be doing something right, those M3's are great subs with a mix of SQ and SPL and still gets loud. maybe he has other issues //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I know the ported box he has now isnt built right, he's working on gettin another one. Other than that he feels that the bass could be tighter and cleaner. I thought the M3's were mainly spl subs.
