new router is not working with xbox, any ideas?

well title says it all, i bought a d-link wbr-2310 yesterday so i could go wireless. i dont wank to go wireless with my xbox tho. i was using just a basic router to split the line and it worked fine all the time. on the new wireless router i just have it pluged into the back ports. i have my desktop connected to the back port and it is working great, but not working at all with my xbox. i did a test to log onto xbox live but it kept failing at the ip address part. i dont really understand everything about wireless router, but i just dont understand why its not working. anyways any help or advice would be great. thanks alot

Mine passes the IP part but not the DTM part (the next part). I don't even know what that is. I am going to try to run ethernet from upstairs to downstairs router to see if that helps. Currently, I tried to use an old modem and that didn't work very well.

are you using a microsoft approved wireless adapter for your 360?

i got it to work. just had to add the device to the router, kinda gay but i got it, lol. maybe it could work for yours, but this site helped alot

Router must have a lot of security then...I was going to suggest the same thing. Had to help a friend in college with the same situation, cept he had to change his mac address to match his computer.
