New Resonant Amp?

Resonant Engineering is comming out with a 1100 watt amp at 2ohms called the R35.1D...there taking preorders and the price is really good...has anyone heard anything about this? Im thinkin about maybe getting this instead of a precision power pcx.

I have a PPI for my components...but for my subs i hate to spend 600 for 1000watts when i can spend 270 for 1000 watts...power is power...

Power is not power. PPI's 1000w of power will be a lot better than some other brands 1000w. Is that $260 the RE amp? Will it give you more "features" than a JBL 1200.1?

Look at http://www.ikesound.com or http://www.bsless.com . Will be under $300 for 1,200 underrated watts. It just doesn't give you much in the way of bells and whistles, just great power.

Im new to this car audio stuff...what are the bells and whistles and do they really matter that much or make a difference worth the $300 dif in price? If i got an amp with less features is there anything i could buy to compensate for its lack of features?

I don't know of any features you CAN'T buy seperately if you really need them that bad. And many have come back stating that the JBL 1200.1 actually puts out 1300-1400w. That is why the entire JBL mono line is the most recommended of all on this board and many others. With bells and whistles I'm talking about x-overs, filters and bass boosts. Some say that because the JBL doesn't have a subsonic filter it would hurt subs in certain ported enclosures. I've never used a ported enclosure and know nothing about this, so take it for what its worth I guess.

Well actually you guys are mistaken. The RE amp is not a 1000 watt amp, it is actually a 1500 watt amp, benched at 1580. And its not cheap watts either. Very good pre oreder price.

You've never used a ported enclosure? Dude those L7's would surely shine in a ported enclosure. Tune it to about 32hz, and oh my. You would be very suprised as to the gains in a ported box and sealed. What is the price, and how long will they be doing "preorders" until they get the amps in stock?

Are they gonna be more $$$$ when they get them in stock?

i was thinking that same thing as i read this loyd. beside's that not having a subsonic filte like the jbl doesn't won't hurt a sub in ported enclosure. don't believe me, talk to loyd about that and him using the amp i bought the d300hc that doesn't have one. he took home a world record without blowing a sub in a ported box using that d300hc although i'm sure he blew many K's for the hell of it.
