why do none of your coils have drilled holes between the coil and triple jointt? this can make a big difference in cooling..
Eh, not really. My experience with holes in the former has been more bad than good. Cooling isnt't helped all that much (unless the motor and frame are specifically designed to make use of them), and crush strength is definitely affected negatively.

I see no real benefit to them IMO.

My testing shows the same... unless the driver was designed around using the holes to direct air-flow in a certain fashion they will hinder cooling.

I've used them before to pick efficiency back up in solid core drivers -- NS v.1 was up 0.4 dB with a vented former -- BUT the thermal handling was decreased a bit in the process... as the design was already well in excess of the rated 1500 RMS we did use the vented formers on production, though.
