new pioneer TS-W307D4 12" sub not working

Hey all. I just got finished installing my new sub and amp in my ranger however when i go to fire it up I'm getting no sound or movement at all out of my sub.

Its a pioneer TS-W307D4 12" 1200watt 4ohm sub hooked up to a Pioneer GM-5300T 760w amp powering the sub then a DEH-P5000UB headunit.

I have no idea why its not working but the amp seems to be functioning fine. It powers on properly when the headunit is on, etc.

Now my question is how can i figure out what the cause is and fix it? Does anyone know how to test with a multimeter since I have one? I'm wondering if it could be a bad speaker cable(purchased from knukonceptz)?

On the head unit there is a Sub on and a Sub off Feature. Make sure its on.

If the sub out is turned on, try another source (iPod, cd player, etc)

Did you hook up the RCAs to their appropriate output/input?

yeah that's the first thing I checked and its on. Also the rca cables are hooked up to the S out from the headunit(which i assume was for subwoofer) and run to the amps input. I have tried the fm tuner, usb input, and cd inputs as well. No difference..me goes to check the manual again...

try turnign up the gain on the amp, sometimes no gain = 0 output. Just give it a little it shoudl be obvious.

hrm well its not that either. Also just for a test i took my ipod and plugged it into the amp slowly adjusting up the volume up it to see if anything happened. I guess my next step is to remove the sub and check the wires again.

ah fixed it after taking the sub out of the box I found out that the terminal plate on the back was faulty so I went to radio shack and picked up a replacement. It works great now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

now i just have to tweak settings so I can hopefully turn the bass off in my door speakers since they rattle the latch mechanism in my extended cab doors.
