This thing looks sick, twistedchild420 has a pretty good over view of it on youtube. I think this may be the HU i upgrade to. 4V preouts, 5band, bluetooth for android including streaming pandora, rear ipod cord, and a few other cool features.

Pioneer DEH-P8400BH CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

How do you think this units SQ would stack up compared to units like alpine 9855 or kenwood kdc-x994? Never had a pioneer head unit, only reviews i could find were the youtube and some amazon ones.

That stupid mix thing on the new pioneers has to go all it does is make a scratch noise when you switch tracks
It has several different transition "noises", theres a number of programs that use them. I kinda think its cool, plus it makes playlists based off of bpm and cord something or another

When I looked at the vid it looked like its just played random songs and didn't check for bpm it was a weak mix IMO
I watched pioneers video of them at the booth demo with it, he explained it. Guess you would have to load your own tunes to see how well it can build lists. Still has 4V preouts, 5 band EQ, rear usb, and a 24bit converter. Which is used when ipod is connected vs the ipods converter. Also can control ipod threw HU or ipod itself Theres a 3.5mm jack on the front for pandora from phones.

Basically the same exact options as the x696 im looking at just the 8400 has a 5 band vs the 696s 3 band. PLus 8400s usb is in the rear, which i like

the 4400 has pretty much all the same features minus the ridiculous price tag. the advanced app mode is just a market ploy u still get netflix, youtube, pandora and alot of other stuff without it. and for $0.99 you can add gps through the iphone. all of them have three sets of rcas, you can boost the voltage with a line driver if u want to but in my experience as long as you you good rcas and run them clear of 12v sources the higher voltage isnt needed plus the 4400 has 4v out anywny . they come with and 8band eq which is graphic not parametric which is a down fall for me. unless u need dual zone entertainment, more than 1 usb, mixtrax, or the advanced appmode you waste your money for 4 extra things that arent needed

woops wrong 8400.

i have this unit and love it. the mixtrax can be turned on or off. the sound is great. i use the BT to run my ipad so i can controll the stereo wirelessly. i hope to get some bassrace practice off the ipad from out side the car this season.

cool, was hoping i would find someone with the 8400. Im trying to decied between it, an kdc-x696, or an alpine 9855

im trying to justify if the price for the mixtrax is worth an extra 200 bucks. the 8400 can be found for 650 online and the 4400 for 450 online.

meh idk if i go that far. I mean its just a copy of itunes stupid mini dj program. There like 9.99 to dowload and there tons of free ones out there lol so its not complicated software by any means
