Ehh, I dunno. It seems to me like all of these super excursion "W7 Killers" have too many drawbacks to be truly worthwhile.

I think the reason why we won't see a W8 for some time is that the W7 is basically around the limit before subs start losing their benefits for most potential buyers. Give me a high-excursion sub that works well off of modest power and space such as the new Mag and I'll be happy.

It's possible to have 200tm of bl...130dB 1w/1m efficiency...and a FS of 14Hz...and a MMs of around 2800 grams (give or take of course)

I imagine the sub will have to have some sort of amp to power it, probably best results will be seen somewhere between 5 and a million watts. It would probably perform well in an enclosure of some sort, made of a material a little denser and thicker than wallpaper. hopefully one more than a few inches deep. Some crazies might even run it IB. I think it will also play best with notes under 20khz and above 2 hz. But then again this is all my opinion, dont quote me talking all of this as fact.

no it's not possible to do that... sry... no material can carry that much flux period!

you can't keep increasing BL... if you do QTS will drop to around 0.0000000001 which can't be used in any box of reasonable size

with 2800g it means you need a ungodly stiff suspension (I don't think 0.01mm/N is possible) and 200Tm you're looking at a nano units of QTS...

just so you know... if you have a 100g mms and a 96db/w SPL... up that to 300g... you loose around 7db efficency... try to make up for that in BL... you need to double the speaker's costs and you can only gain 1.5db of that back before reaching a QTS of 0.15

adding BL doesn't fix the Mms ... it just helps the tinyest amount... at the HUGE costs of build costs

and as far as unconventional speakers... if you had knowledge of what Dylan and I are building as we speak... well... yea...

They didn't... it's the same tech besides the split coil... can't work again physics using basic 60 yr old tech

the cheapest w7 killer is the new magnums..imho

the rl-s will give the w7 ht version a run for its money..as far as incar..depending on box size and power can whoop a w7 *** in output and accuracy

and from looks the xxx means business..actual performace is unknown

I think that These designers are just getting to greedy, They have crossed the line where that a driver becomes so inefficent that it is hardly worth buying because of the box requirements and the amount of power needed to get them moving.

well we can... we just don't want to reveal too much before we work out the kinks of the design

as far as the validity of it... well that's what we're staring at in the face right now... and it all seems to be possible
