New or used car for $15,000 - $18,000?

80K miles is too many miles for a 97-99 car.
For a domestic you're right to be concerned, but for the E-39 that's nothing.

I've been in the automotive industry for the last 5yrs and I think I know what I'm talking about o.k. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

to each his own, but i personally wouldnt pay that much for ANY car from 1997+with that kind of mileage. my 91 ford had 144k on it when i bought it in february and i thought that was too much.
