new mtx's better than w7 ?

I think he's tryin to say 10's sound cleaner and 15's are slower.
Which is why I stated his entire statment as false.
It isn't entire false cause I know people have hit pure loudness with 10's but what I was saying the majority of every 15 is bought for a reason and same with tens. Not only cause of space. So no my entire statement isn't false.

Ha umm we did Last post 5 hours ago. You revived it. Thats ok I'll let you slide on this one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

The main difference in the sound characteristics between a 15 and a 10 that most people talk about comes down to their difference in cone area (the 15 having alot more obviously). The added cone area is what gives the 15 its higher output, lower end, etc (again obviously). But alot of people tend to forget this difference can be adjusted by the number of woofers. Ive actually spoken with people who believe a single 15 would go lower than a wall of dozens of 8's, but that the 8's would be 'quicker', simply because of their pre-conceived notion that "15's go lower" and "8's are quicker". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

No flaming....but if someone were to do an SPL application with the 10" 9500 subs, they would definetly have a chance.

Bottom line is, there should never be an X vs Y comparison, "better" is relative to the individual.

JL owns sound quality, probably always will (relative to current sq judging criteria).

9500 10's are SPL woofers (4" xmech)...pretty good ones too...

Depends on what you are looking for.

Now can we all just give each other a big hug and go watch cartoons? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

The 9500 is a good SPL driver, but there's no way in HELL you'll EVER get that suspension to move anywhere NEAR 4" p2p...you need at LEAST a 10" spider to do that, and with the tiny spiders and restrictive surround the 9500 uses, it doesn't have a snowballs' chance in hell of getting that far. I sincerely doubt you'd ever get 3" p2p out of one, let alone 4" p2p. I've seen the spiders ripped clean off a 9515, and it required far less than 3" p2p to do it...
