Go ahead and defend the brand, its obviously worth sacrificing your intelligence and general illusion of knowlage and understanding. i think the 9500 is very competitive with the w7, factor in cost and the 9500 wins in my opinion.

i still believe the w7 is probably the best sql woofer money can buy, but that's if u have the money...lol...

i've heard both and heard them in optimum enclosures....the 9500 does keep up, but maybe i don't have the ear some others have. i don't believe it was as crisp as the w7, but it get's close.

btw, the sledgehammer enclosure is designed for the 9500, so it serves to reason that it sounds great and gets loud.....i believe jl offers a enclosure designed for the w7, so head to head, u'd have a great lil battle.

in the end, both are great subs...but i agree that other then the 10's..the w7 wins, unless u factor price...u can get 2 9500's for the price of one w7 in most cases..

so which is a better amp the HiFonics Brutus amp? or the Thunder1501D

the mtx 1501d hands down. while the hifonics is a good amp for the money, loyd tested one and they are a bit overrated. the mtx on the other hand is a proven winner, used to be called the 81000d. underrated, some say stable to 1 ohm, they put out the power they claim, stay cool doing it (at 2 ohm anyway, lol) and look cool as well. most of the time they can be found for about $50-$75 more then the brutus, making them a decent value as well.
