Hey gang!
Quick intro on myself. I was into the car audio scene pretty heavily from around 1988 through around 2000. I have dabbled in car audio here and there since, had a pretty good set up in my 1000 HP "lake" boat before I sunk it. I have since put a small system in my plow truck (old school punch 40, punch 60, punch 200, 2 kicker 12's, blah blah blah).
I always wanted to build a high end system using only 100 watts, but have since found out that the industry or hobby has gone a different route and that is no longer the thing to do.
Here is what I have and what my plans were for a "moderate" system in my chevy dually.
I have two old school punch 200's. I was going to use one of these to drive the subs and one to drive the 6.5 component sets in the doors.
I have a audio control matrix.
I have an old school eclipse deck, but was thinking about buying a double din head unit as I would really like to have the USB capabilities. What is a good head unit?
I have a pair of old school Boston Pro 12's. These are really effeciant speakers, I was planning on using them, but the speakers will need to be reconed as the surrounds have deterioated from sitting for years.
What is a decent component speaker set that will not break the bank? I always liked MB quarts, what is popular?
Any input is welcome, and thanks in advance.
