Hello caraudio. Im a new member from London.

So I saved up some money for a descent car audio setup and

Im looking forward to getting these items for my Audi A6 C4 1996 make.

HEAD UNIT : Alpine CDA-9887R

FRONT DOOR SPEAKERS : Alpine SPR-13C

REAR SPEAKERS : Alpine SPR-17C

AMP FOR SPEAKERS : 4 CHANNEL Alpine MRP-F600

SUBWOOFER : 12" Alpine SWX-1243D

AMP FOR SUBWOOFER : MONO CHANNEL Alpine PDX-1.1000

TWEETERS : Alpine SPS-1005

So what do you guys think? Would all of these items mix with each other good?

What wiring would i need? And I suppose I would need a new battery for all this power.

What about crossovers?

Im a bit of a newbie in car audio so please advise.

Thank you!!

So what you think

Rather than the Alpine SPR-13C up front, I would get the Alpine SPR-13S. This a component set which comes with a separate tweeter. So to make up for the difference in price of these two sets, you can completely eliminate the Alpine SPS-1005 from the mix. Should work out much nicer for you. The component set will comes with it's own passive crossover, for a basic setup, that should be all you need.

hello ... fellow islander. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif im from Nth London myself, not many of us here...... be prepared for some abuse!!, these guys like to ''butt-fk'' new members especially us Brits.

but its just their way, great knowledge here..

nice gear, the amp is excellent... but as others have said you may being paying more for Alpine gear (comps especially) when you could get the same SQ for less cash.

not all of us like brit booty... lol

Yeah i from the UK London. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Well Im willing to pay the extra for quality and reliability. Just asking if the sub and amp will cooperate with each other nicely. Same about the coax speakers with that separate amp. And what extras will i need to get this whole system working. Thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you're so interested in an all Alpine system, why not go with the Type X stuff all the way around. You could get the Type X 6.5" comps and a PDX-2.150 for around the same price as the stuff you're looking at now and you'd end up with matching amplifiers. And yes, the PDX-1.1000 will be perfect for the sub.

I'm anticipating the inevitable "what about the rear speakers" question, so I'll go ahead and answer it; You don't have to buy and amplify expensive coaxial speakers for rear fill. If, after you install the Type X components, you decide you must have rear fill, you can alway buy some el-cheapo alpine coaxials and power them with the cd player. They should be faded almost completely out of the equation to begin with.

So, what I'm telling you to do is buy the Type X components, matching PDX amps and the Type X sub. You seem to be interested in matching equipment first & foremost. My suggestion will ultimately lead to you having better equipment and it'll cost about the same as the stuff you're looking at now.

If you'd be interested in constructive criticism on every level, I could easily put together a list of comparable equipment that'll save you some money.

I think you're spending too much money because you want all of your equipment to "match".
How do you know that? Did hew tell you how much he was gonna spend on that gear? Try not to be so conforming to everybody on here.

When I joined & showed pictures of my JL 500/1 everybody bashed me & told me I wasted my money on junk. They were posting links to inferior amplifiers that cost $2-300 & then saying if I was gonna be a high roller I should buy something nice, similar to the $6-700 Sundown amps they were posting.

my JL 500/1 was mint & I gave $60 for it at a pawn shop........

I have a pretty good idea how much the equipment costs, bob. And I'm the last person you'll want to accuse of being a conformist. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I didn't say the equipnent was junk, and I'm not your typical "I hate JL Audio" type of guy. I've owned JL Audio equipment recently.

You're just pissy because I pointed out those Arc amps to that kid you were trying to sell to. I didn't do that in your classifieds thread, and it wasn't a direct ploy to take money out of your pocket. In fact, I'll help you sell that amp if you want me to. I've helped Geoff sell several amplifiers on this forum.

I'm not the douchebag you think I am.

He bought it anyway.
