Im not a newbie to car audio, but i dont know much about clipping. I picked up one of the new mb quart ra2400 amps. i have it bridged at 4ohms to two 8 ohm svc kicker subs. they are low power subs and this amp can push 800wrms bridged at 4ohms, plenty to murder these subs.
i only have the L/R gains turned up 1/3 of the way, the hu is a panasonic c9700u, (5vouts), no bassboost, the sub out is at 0 (not +6db or something). The MB Quart amp has clipping led's on it, awesome feature. Every time i turn it up loud, every time it hits they start flashing. why would this amp be clipping already? like i said i dont know anything about clipping, could somebody clue me in? thanks alot.
only thing i can think of is it temporarily hooked up with my old amps wiring, which is 8g rather than 4 gauge that it requires. or could the ground also affect it.
