So I got a new job, I'm gonna work til 2nd sememster(january) and save money for a new car. I'll probably have 5000-6000 to spend by then with the way things are going. My question is what should I get.

What I'm looking for is less than 90,000 miles. Newer than a 1995

What I have in mind.

95 Mustang GT 5.0 5 speed

later 90's mustang with the 4.6

00-01 with a V6

Late 90's eclipse

Camaro.. dont know

I know the V8 isnt practical, but it would be fun as hell to drive and cool. I've always drove a pos so I wouldn't be bashful in any of those cars. The gas milage diff is only 4-5 mpg between the V6 and V8 mustangs but the eclipse has them beat pretty good.

I'm open to any ideas.

I want something relatively fast. Not a complete gas guzzler.

The eclipse is not good for passengers in the rear, they bang their head on the glass.

What aspect are you most interested in when looking for a car?

Aftermarket support?

Fuel economy

Seating

Repairs? (For instance, GMs may break down, but all the fixes are pretty easy; wheras a bmw may break down less, but repairs are more expensive)

car audio friendly?

Theres usually no more than 2 in my car. and if there is its not for a long time.

Gas milage wise 20mpg is about as low as I can go before It becomes crazy expensive. I drive 50 miles a day to work round trip and then some. I would like something relatively common so its easy to fix. Max pricing is 6k. If you guys happen to look on autotrader.com my area code is 32578 and ill travel up to 300 miles for it.

What else is there thats fast and cheap?

you will not be seeing 20mpg with any mustang or camaro realistically. and mustangs are far from fun to drive. The only stang i'd look at is a fox. i dont even really like them either... but yeah.

None of those cars really have great room in the backseat fyi. Something fast with good gas mileage would be an Eclipse. But if you have to wrok on it yourself and dont know anything about cars I wouldnt buy that, plus Mitsu parts can get expensive real fast. For not as good gas mileage but parts a lil cheaper and slightly easier to work on I would go Camaro.

Get a civic! They NEVER break, brake pads cost $3.65, you can fix anything on it with a flat head screwdriver and a monkey, and if you put stickers all over it and a fart pipe hangin out the back it will blow the doors off of anything on the street!

Cant beleive nobody mentioned that.
