New Install - HELP ME Please

New Install Sony CDX5705X (started with Alpine CDA9883) Head Unit = HU - Clarion APA4101 Amp - Infinity Kappa 6x9 Speakers.

I get everything connected and no sound from speakers. HU turns on and I can select between FM radio & CD/MP3 - I can hear the cd being loaded and the visual effects indicate song is playing - mp3 cd player -> the song info scrolls.

With the HU off I get between 12-13V across the power & ground (on the amp) with the ignition both on & off (car not running) as soon as I turn the HU on the voltage drops to 3-4v. The remote wire is between 1-2v with HU on 0 with it off.

Same exact thing with the Alpine HU.

Car is a 1992 Corvette. the HU wiring is as follows:

Car HU Connection:

Orange yellow Constant 12v

yellow red Ignition/Accessory 12v

---- blue/white Remote on Amp

DkBlue Dkblue Antenna

I have a wire going directly from the battery to the Power on the amp - ground Amp to car body (metal to metal = good ground) - the blue/white wire on HU going to remote terminal on amp - RCA Jacks red/White front and rear on HU & Amp - on the amp -> Speakers connected: one speaker on front one speaker on rear Positive to Positive - Negative to negative.

What am I doing wrong?
