hey, i currently have a mono amp powering my 12" type r sub, and i just added a second amp, its the power acoustik bamf 1600/4 4 channel amp at 150rmsx4 (realisticly lower rms), now, i got new component speakers in the front with each of the crossovers connected to speaker wire running to the back of my car where my amp is,

my head unit is a sony gt510 with 2 preamp outputs, a rear and front , (4 rca connections)

i already have the rear taken from the sub amp, so i only have the front connection (2 rca connetions) open.

at the moment i really just am worried about running the components off of the amp and then worry about the back speakers later,

this is the part im not sure about, i had 1 rca cable going to the front and then plugged into channel 1 & 2 and had my left door/right door wires tied into 1&2 on the amp, that didnt work and i didnt hear anything, so i switched them and tried them bridged and everything, and i couldnt get any sound out of them.

do i need to run a Y cable with the rca on the back of the head unit on both rca connections and run 2 difference rca cables to the back plugged into my amp? what would be the best way to get the 2 components to work on the 4 channel amp? any help is greatly appreciated?

btw, my speakers are polk db6501 components

Ok just to be sure all items are covered: 1. front speakers + and - wired to crossovers. 2. crossover 1 and 2 wired to bamf speaker output 1 and 2. 3. bamf rca's 1 and 2 run to h/u front right and left. 4. power, ground , and turn on hooked up to bamf. good ground. 5. h/u fader set to front or 0 fade. 6. amp gains adjusted properly. 7. amp and h/u crossover (if being used) adjusted properly.

let us know if this solves it. also what components are you using?

i had all of that setup in that way you had mentioned but it didnt work, i know have the crossovers connected properly to the woofer and tweeter cuz i plugged em in to my mono amp for a second and they played, so its definately the amp. could an improper grounding connection prevent the amp from working at all?

well the ground where the sub amp is, is on the other side of my trunk, i have the amps set up on each side of the trunk, im going to try to change the grounding and see if that does anything, but if it wasnt grounded, would the amp still turn on? or what

when i have the 4 channel amp, and only using 2 speakers, should i bridge them across the 4 channels ? or just wire them to the first 2 channels, and put the amp in 2 channel mode
