New Head Unit wont power up

Got a new Pioneer DEH-X5500HD head unit, but it has been years since I have installed one. I took out a Pioneer unit that had an orange wire in its harness, but the new harness does not have a spot for the orange wire to go. Also, I put power to the unit and nothing happens... and my dash gauges stopped working. 2000 Chevy S-10.

the orange wire is for illumination, you popped the fuse in the side panel

try connecting the radio straight to the battery to see if the radio might have **** out. also, put the illuminate wire with the power wire
