Not so new to car audio, but new to this forum. I look forward to learning a lot. I have a couple questions to start with:

1) I have the 1501d and the MTX 9512-44 Sledgehammer. I am about to buy a 12" 4ohm dvc type x. will this sub perform in the sledgehammer box? Somewhere i read the box was tuned to 38hz.

2) I also have a non working 1501d that i'm not too sure whats goin on with. It has a bad diode and i swapped it. Still doesn't work. Anyone here know how to diagnose these amps?

edit: also where can i find a HO alt for fairly cheap? haha, one more... can someone point me to a how-to on a second battery?

Look on eBay, I just found a 180A alt for $175 shipped for my car. Battery how-tos, what exactly are you wanting in the how-to? How to choose what battery, how to add a second battery?

yeah, but much to learn. i taught myself everything i know with trial/error. i killed my old 1501, so i bought one on ebay for 200 +ship. Anyways, just want to learn as much as possible and break necks when i roll by. thanks guys
