New gorrila glue = bad

well i would just like to say that it sucks. it says its stronger and can dry in 1-2 hours. so i glued the 2 pieces of my port together with it. i let it sit overnight and i brought it into to school to route. the bond broke.

just giving a heads up to everyone to buy the older gorilla glue not the new.

don't need it to build a box anyway. We post repeatedly that wood glue is still the BEST and is all you need for MDF boxes.

it was in 70 degrees. i liked gorilla only because of the set time. at school i have an unlimited supply of titebond 1 and 2. so i am using that for now on.

It is an amazing glue....i mean amazing..however, on wood, Id rather use the paste from the back of a stamp to hold it together...

Did you put enough water on each side of the wood? If you don't put enough, it won't bond well at all.

Either way, the stuff is terrible to work with and too expensive. It does hold quite well though and the MDF should have failed before the joint unless you did something wrong.

i used dampened the wood before.

a strait up comparison the old stuff is better than the new. it was not human error

I use liquid nails because it comes in a tube and every box I've ever built has worked well with it.

Especially for MDF adhesion.

im sorry liquid nails is almost as bad as gorilla glue...

i did a stress test with some 90 degreen angle pieces

1st place went to Loctites wood glue

2nd place Titebond II

3rd place Liquid nails

4th place gorilla glue

5th place no glue
