Using
With a top plate that thick, and no manipluatin of the top plate geometry, magnetic flux is not focused where it should be (forgive me, I'm on my 8th beer so things may not be so clear). Using FEA, you can focus the geometry to thet top plate gets the flux focused on teh right area.

Anyone can add a magent and top plate. Its diiferent trying to make them work together,.
