New driver choice for Subwoofer

I was originally planning on saving for an 18" tumult, but I am thinking that is just too much money to justify for a home sub. IOW the wife might kill me. So I am looking at other drivers now that are cheaper. Do you think 2 Infinity Perfect 12.1 single 4ohm drivers would be good for the home? When I model 2 in a ported enclosure in WinISD they get low and looks pretty flat, but how about output?

I heard one in a home setup at a friend of mine's house...it got low and pretty loud, 2 should do ya good
