Hey guys,

So i recently installed some type r's and love them. But i can defiantly tell my stock speakers ****. I was thinking about buying these:

Then use possibly this amp to power them:

or

My question is do i need 150 watt rms or 300 watt rms for the speakers. And how exactly do you wire down speakers like these to say a 2 Ohm load? And would you recommend me buying some 6x9's for the back for filler? Not components just a pair of coaxial?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Edit: So i am doing more "research" on some new speakers and i was thinking about this setup:

-Front: http://cgi.ebay.com/SPR-17S-ALPINE-6-5-COMPONENTS-BRAND-NEW_W0QQitemZ250174278656QQihZ015QQcategoryZ32819QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

-Back: http://cgi.ebay.com/SPR-17C-ALPINE-TYPE-R-6-5-COAXIALS-NEW-2007_W0QQitemZ250174278104QQihZ015QQcategoryZ18799QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

-Amp: http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=385

or this amp: http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=383

-Amp Kit: http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KOLAK84

My question now is should i wire the speakers to 2 Ohm and get 300 watts rms for all 4 speakers or wire the speakers down to 4 Ohm and get 150 watts rms. And how exactly do you wire speakers? And what wire gauge should i use 8-gauge or 4-gauge? And will i have to wire more power to my trunk now that i will have a second amp?

i am a newb when it comes to speakers.

1. First off, do you have your doors deadened and sealed up?

2. Second, the Type R comps have some decent SQ, but midbass reproduction reminds me of Infinity comps... it can be very lacking.

You'd probably be a lot better off getting the Cadence TXA-3002 amp and a set of PG RSd65cs comps for the front.

Don't run anything in the rear until you are satisfied with the front... heck, you may decide that rear fill is totally unnecessary once the front stage is meeting your wants and desires.

1. No my doors are not sealed or deadened, they are stock. Should i look into some dyno mat? I was thinking about adding this to my trunk since i do hear some rattling.

Well i did here my friends system who only had front stage and no rear and it sounded very nice with his orion subs. But i think i am going to stick with the type r's. my friend has them in the front and they sound crystal clear to me atleast.

Also, what about if i run the type r comps off of the TXA-1502 amp and wire the speakers down to 2 Ohm and both speakers will be getting 150 watts each, or should i give them 300 watts each? and can anyone else help me with how to wire, and what gauge?

Yes, Defnitely deaden and seal up the doors! You'll be amazed at how much impact this alone will add! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I recommend RAAMmat BXT since you can get 62.5 sqft for about $135 shipped. That'll be enough to do both doors and maybe even your trunk. Rick is a great guy to buy from as well... no nonsense fellow car audio enthusiast. www.raamaudio.com

I'd get the TXA-3002, to be honest. All the power the Type R's need plus you'll have some overhead for the future.
