New car: Subaru or Mitsubishi

Wanna be would be like, a sporty focus is awanna be mustang.
Wong wheel drive means that 9 times out of 10, RWD is the superior drive train.

Sure you can beat me...Its a truck. Can you tow a 19' boat up a ramp? Can you make it down a rutted dirt road? Can you Do a donut?

Saying your car isnt a regular focus is just like saying an SRT-4 isnt a Neon...SRT-4 is a hopped up Family car and your car is a hopped up economy hatchback.

PS

an LS2 Solstice would walk all over you in every way...a stock solstice would likely kill you in the corners.
A regular solstice would not. There is actually a thread in focaljet comparing the two as his dad bought one and the Focus beat the quarte mile and handles a lot better. As far as the rest I dont know. Now the LS2 would be a different story. Your comparing a 40000 dollar car to a 20000 and under car. Good comparsion there. Also I like the fact of having a 4 door family car. Is the ultimate sleeper. I love the looks on peoples faces at the next light when they say What the hell do you got in that car. I can also do a donut, just backwards. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I love economy, nothing wrong with that. Good on gas, nice tunes and still have room for the family and groceries. Its a win, win situation. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Also I do a lot of driving and I live in a bad part of Ohio for the snow, so FWD will suite me just fine.

I find it funny also about you saying wannabe mustang, lol! Thing is my car looks just like it and I just rebadged it to a stang, lol! Your a funny man. Also learn what an St is before going off. The ST is a sedan dimwit!

Show me where a Focus from the factory (of any kind) beat a solstice from the factory.

And the $40,000 LS2 Solstice is if you had someone else do it and got it fully loaded. If you buy a bade line solstice and do the work yourself.... In that case I am comparing a $20,000 car to a $20,000 car with a $8,000 engine. Then you have the pride of having a car wit ha 6:1 power to weight ratio that you built with your own hands.

Then sell the solstice's stock engine for a couple grand and open the LS2 up some more with a new intake manifold, a tune, and headers...bringing the power to weight down to 5:1.

Are you aware of what kind of speed is involved with that kind of power to weight ratio?

The GTO was made and designed in Australia //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Well still American if you asked me.

Also to Fryman, that Focus pic you took is the Euro edition over in England. My car looks nothing like that. That St would for sure keep up with the solstice. I wish they would have produced those over here, but they didnt.

I will go look up the one thread over there, may take a while as it was litterly months ago when the solstice first came out.

my bro said the evo was sick. The one they test drove was riced out with cf running 20 lbs of boost. Im not sure if thats stock or not(no research FTL)
fyi they run 19lbs stock.....go evo, she wont regret it, just dont buy used, 10year warrenty ftw!!! also they tend to be high maintinence and have probs if railed alot...but still a really fun car;)

The Solstice is not based off the Elise at all ...
The original Vauxhall VX220/Opel Speedster were based off the Elise, but GM decided they wanted to move into the lower-end of the sports convertible market, so they designed their own chassis. Production of the older Elise-based models ceased in 2004.

They compete with the Miata rather than high-end sports cars now.

Decide what she wants to do with the car.
If she wants to go fast, the WRX STi has real time all wheel drive. So you will always have 2 of the 4 wheels spinning. On front one back.

IIRC the Evo does NOT have real time all wheel drive. So if one tire brakes loose she will loose all traction to that one tire.

Evo is cheaper to upgrade, STi is far more comfertable IMO. What is good about the STi having real time all wheel drive is you can swap in LSD's and get all 4 wheels spinning while going down a dirt road. I drove an STi with Limited Slips on a dirt road...it was a dream to say the least.

If she wants a fast car and is looking to upgrade it (modify it) the Evo would be her better choice. Though I doubt this is what she is looking for.

If she is looking for a 'cool' daily driver that is rather quick when she needs it that and stay on the road...between the two the STi... well even if she is going to be hauling *** down dirt roads the STi.

But if it isnt going to be raced, or driven on dirt roads why dont you have her test drive a Mini Cooper S, or a Saturn Sky, or the pontiac equivilant of the sky. If she wants a 4 door put her in Charger.
your talkin like this woman lives in a desert wake the hell up man..this is a daily driver..mature type woman you think shes gona go lookin for dirt phuckin roads at 2am..not everyone here is a kid like you who steals daddies car when hes asleep then wrecks it..

Oh, sorry I was under the impression someone would get a rally bassed vehicled with rally suspension if they lived in an area with a lot of dirt roads.

People feel shitty in their econo boxes where I live when we go flying past them on dirt roads in turcks and AWD cars doing 50-60mph while they are doing 25 because their suspension cant handle thoes kinds of speeds on dirt roads.

I travle on dirt roads at least once a day. Somtimes more.

when I barrowed my dad's vehicle and got a ticket I was on I-10...not playing rally car. I dont know where you even got that from. If you think I ever took my dads WRX you'd be wrong considering he has never owned a subaru...led alone a WRX.

The WRX with LSD's I drove was a friend of mine's... He was sitting in the passenger seat. The Evo I drove was a willy nilly test drive to waste time while in jacksonville. No intention of buying but the salsemen doesnt know that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif
