New car-i have a couple questions please

hey everyone

i just got a new car, and im transfering my 2 15's and my memphis 2000d to it. I also have a JBL px600.2 and i am going to be getting 6x9's to hook that up to. what impedence would i need 2 or 4 ohm speakers to get maximum power? and what brand of speakers do u recommend for 6x9?

Well at 2 ohms that little beast puts out over 275WRms x 2 so have fun finding 6x9s to handle that.

Just use the PX where it should be used; nice front stage.

use that JBL amp to power some front speakers.

It depends on the amp. It is a 2 channel I assume? If so, then find what ohm load it is stable down to in stereo, and then get speakers to match that ohm load.

With 6x9's... Are they front or rear speakers? In either case, most people here will agree that you should get an adapter plate to make them 6.5" holes, so that you can get a more "musical"speaker. 6x9s suffer a little bit from the shape of the cone. Also, there is a MUCH wider selection of 6.5s vs 6x9s.

Popular brands here (as far as high end, not mainstream Best Buy bullshit) would be like MB Quart, Focal, Seas Lotus (awesome speakers), Rainbow... I can think of many more if i try.

Why not get a set of 6.5 components, and separate 6.5 midbass speakers? Needs special crossover work, but sounds awesome when done right.

Well, if you get 2 4 ohm speakers and theyre wired in parallel, you get 2 ohms.

the amp is too powerful for onlyh 2 6.5's--so i should get 4 2 ohms and wire them in parallel?
