Well, like I said earlier those are some you could work with, and I don't blame you for wanting to stay in you class.
I forgot to mention dd 9510's though, those are another option.

i still think 5k daily would kill them and dd recones are way over priced imo

Even when he built the old 10" BTLs he specified that they were for spl use, not daily. Like you mentioned about turning your amp down after comps- that would be the safe/smart thing to do imo.

No woofer will take 5kw daily...hate to break it to you.

But there is a lot of difference in 5000 watts and "5000 watts"
