So Vitveet built me a new box. This box is simply awesome! Here's some pics. The build pics are from Vitveet. The last 3 pics are pics I took with my cell phone. They surprisingly turned out pretty well for using my phone. It's like 3 degrees here so I don't feel like going outside for more pics right now. I'll have more up at some point though.

By the way, the box is 4.48 cubic feet net tuned to 30.6 Hz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

On to the pics...

The Kicker box on top used to house my CVXs. Check out the size difference.

cool, turn the box around in your trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I read this huge long writeup once that stated that's the best position for most cars. I played around with it in my car and it did seem to be the best for me too. That was with my old box though. I'll have to try some different configurations with this one, but I'll more than likely leave it how it is. I'm definitely not going outside to do anything right now. It's too **** cold for that.

looks nice man great job
Great job to Vitveet, not me. All I did was wire it, put my subs in and drop it in the trunk.

Very nice, How does it sound?
So far, pretty good. It's not any louder than my other box, but it's much cleaner and it plays much lower. I'll be looking to add some power in the hopefully near future. I'll probably be getting an Alpine MRP-M1000 or something for them. I'd like a Sundown SAZ-2000d but I can't afford that.

nice. and nice big trunk.
The box is 44 inches wide and I had no trouble getting it in there. I've got 46 inches between my trunk hinges. My goal was to get a box between 4.4 cubes and 4.5 cubes and still keep my spare tire. I guess it was possible.

After getting a good listening session in today, I've come to the conclusion that it is louder, cleaner, and lower than my previous box. I didn't think it was any louder, but I did test it out at 10 ish last night and I didn't want to wake anyone at home or my neighbors.

strange that a ported box isn't louder...
just read your last post. Glad it worked out for you. If they do another MECA show down by you I'll have to check it out...
If they do another MECA show down by me, I'll have to know about it...lol. I'll definitely be there if I know the whereabouts of it and date, time, etc.

It's definitely louder than my previous setup, but it's still nothing like yours, nor will it probably ever be that loud... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif You've got one of the loudest setups I've ever heard.

Looking good man! Glad everything is working out for you! Like I told you a little earlier, once you get the power the cvx's really crave, you're REALLY in for a treat!!!

Yeah, his other enclosure is ported too I do believe?!!? The Kicker one!?!? Maybe I'm wrong but I think it is!!

V.

Yeah, the old enclosure is ported as well. It's like 3.8 cubes gross and Kicker claims a tuning frequency of about 38 Hz. I believe it's much higher than that though. If I try and plug the specs into any calculators online, it's in the mid 40s usually, before the subs are added in.
