People are stupid...
Well i made a thread a lil while back about the 10" alpine type-e because i got one free and was wondering if i should buy 3 more just to have a lil bit more bump, but that idea is gone from my head.

So i thought of another. I have still have the 1 type-e and it came in a q-logic box from BB and i believe its around .75 cu. sealed. The question is would the sub get any louder if i were to build a bigger sealed box? I have wood laying around from previous projects and have enough to build a new box and i just have the urge to build something. Would there be a diff. in loudness with a bigger box? j/w. And yes its a horrible sub but i got it for free.

thanks

I don't know. The recommended sealed enclosure for that sub is 0.6 - 1.25 cubic feet, so the .75 cubic foot box you have now falls withing the recommended range. You "may" gain a bit of SPL and depth by going with a 1.25 cubic feet box . If you want a definite gain, port it. The Type E isn't a "horrible" sub - there's much worse out there! Free subs are always good subs! Even if it's a Dual or something like that, you can always make it an interesting door stop!
