Hey i found the grille's for my subs what u guys think anyone ever deal with these like do they fit well they say they go to my model subs but i mean how do they fit like do they fit nicely over the subs? anyone ever use these?

yeah but i actually like the way sealed boxes are better my friend has a ported one nice custom made actually and i found out i like the way sealed sound better. u get more of a clearer sound i mean dont get me wrong i love bass but u actually get more cleanier sound actually also with a sealed

You cant generalize ported vs sealed if its not the same car, same woofer, with the same amount of power...there are way too many variables.

Are you saying the woofer sounded cleaner (less distortion?) because the ported enclosure should have be more linear its in stroke (less excursion = less distortion for a give driver) for a given frequency...

You really cant generalize

I'm a pretty big fan of sealed boxes as well. Although I like the output of ported boxes, sealed offers a more linear preformance. It's much easier to build as well. Good show young man. BTW: Put this under the, "Enclosure Design & Construction Help" section.

yeah i was going to put it under enclosure design but i wasn't sure which sry i put it in the wrong one man. has one ever made custom grille's for there subs im lookn at all these one's online and i don't see anything i like spinning grille's i mean come on WTF

wow, i'm very glad you finally got a box made, and it looks well done!

but unfortunately it looks WAYYYY too big, unless those subs like huge sealed boxes.

just by looking at it i'd guess at least 4-5ft^3 total.

but, now that you've done that one you should have no problem doing a slot ported box!

just make sure you get a proper design before you start.

lastly, i really don't want to offend you but could at least try to make posts with some sort of grammar/puncutaion? it makes me feel like a drunk, dyslexic person when i read your posts.

i dont think people understand some subs just WONT DO WELL in ANY kind of vented enclosure. If you like it, why change it? It obviously does what you want, and then some. Don't worry bout the "shoulda does this" guys, they don't know what you like for sound.

Thanks man and don't worry its not 4 ft haha not that big shit. I would be able to get that in my trunk 30 inches across 17 i think is the width. i know looks big in pic though cause i had the cam zoomed in.

that's a bit over 3 total. should be ok.

i just thought it looked similar in size to my box, which is over 5ft^3 gross (if i remember correctly)

How do you guys get all the major cuts done for the largest pieces? Just take em to home depot or lowes and get em cut there?
