New box or a Way to Lower the Freq?

I have a box that is tuned at 32hz and the more I listen to it the more I think I should have had it tuned at 27hz. Is there a way to "plug" it or should I just get a new box.

im quite shure you would be alble to make a plug.

But if the port bends i dont think you can make one.

is there a reason you are choosing to tune lower, and why did you choose the tuning you did?

The port doesnt bend.

I tuned it at 32 because thats what RE suggested but after listening I want to get more low end of the bass freqs.

Any suggestions on how to go about making a plug?

What you are suggesting will have little to no effect, you are trying to change the frequencies by less than 1/4 octave, which in this low of a tuning frequency, you would be hard pressed to hear properly. If you want more sound from this system, add a processor like a Audio Control Epicenter. This processor digitally restores the lower octaves that are rolled off in the recording process, what it adds to some systems is just amazing.

To tune your box lower just make the port longer... The longer the port the lower the freq or you can just cut down your port area. Both will lower the tunning of the box.

If anything, 33 Hz should have greater low-end reinforcement than 27 Hz ...

to the origional poster, the lower tuning is only going to make the low end more transparent not pronounced. I suggest maybe a slightly higher tuning or more port area to acheive what you want.

This is very true. Not many people realize just how much difference the Epicentre makes. Night and day. I've got my CV'rs tuned to 40 hz, but when I activate the Epicentre you would swear I was running W7's. Yes I know what you're thinking, but I need to be extreme to make my point. :thumbsup

Easy, stuff it with polyfill to "add" volume therfor lowering tuning.

Done and.... done.

33hz will give you a bigger peak while 27hz will model out more flatly. Since most music wont go below the peak the 33hz tune gives you, it will be louder.
