new box build help for a newbie @ 28hz

You're going to get extremely exaggerated low-end from the Premiers with that box. They were not built with boxes like yours in mind. You might think it sounds alright, but I would build another box for them. They really perform their best with tunings around 32-40.

edit: saw that your box is actually at 31. That might work out alright for you.

whats the worst that can happen ? I could always shorten the port length

as said before, I tuned it to 28 because I was told when subs go in, the frquency will rise

is it true about my box frequency rising guys ?
What they were talking about is that it will rise because the sub is being put into the enclosure, which takes up a bit of airspace...this will shift the tuning higher, but a meaningless amount

And I did the math and the tuning is 28.1577Hz before you drop in the sub (which doesnt really mean anything...so yea, your enclosure is tuned to 28.25Hz or so)

thanx pioneer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif What do you mean it does not mean anything ? Im sorry to keep going on about this but have I done the right thing going this low or do ya think it will ****

Will it still play 30hz music and above ?

Yea, you'll still play 30+Hz etc.

And I say it doesnt really matter because the very small space that your subs take up in the enclosure wont effect the tuning enough for you to notice.

Give it a whirl and see how it performs...if its good, awesome...if it lacks a little something I would think a 33Hz tuned (or so) enclosure would be a better bet

Thanx again pioneer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif:)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. If I need to adjust the tuning, Is it ok to just take out the port in there or cut it down a few correct inches to raise tuning, Is that the right way to go about it ? I think It's gonna POUND

No prob
Yea you can do that...I assume youre using an aero port or pvc pipe..? Because if its a slot-port I'd hope you couldnt remove it, haha
OOHH, lol, Its a slot port and I would have a bit of a problem removing it as its all glued down and screwed. Anyway, I like bass very rumbly, deep and wobbly beat line where you can feel it hard and where everything flexes. I could trim the length of the port down but with a hacksaw but dont I dont think I would do it anyway. The box will be staying as it is. I will get sum pics in a second

heres some pics. Just need to cut the holes for subs, drop the top on and carpet the box and seal up a few more areas then its good to go.

Here is a pic of the old port length I was going to use tuned to 29.5hz or so

and the new port length

Look how long that port is. YERRRR (if thats a good thing lol)
