New Autotek amps?

I doubt anyone has any experience as most people are too scared to try something new (and with good reason). However, I was wondering if anyone has messed with the 2011 Autotek amps at all?

I am looking for 2Kw~ rms @ 1ohm and the new Autotek Mean Machine 4000.1 is less than $200. Only thing I can find on it is "4000w x 1 @ 1ohm RMS" which I HIGHLY doubt of course. But if it would do half that, I would be happy for that price...

Funny you posted this, I was thinking about these the other day as well. I watched Maxxsonics video presentation on these amps they acctually look pretty well built for the price.

Of course NOW I find pictures... looks like it has a pair of 70A fuses so 2Kw~ rms sounds reasonable.

Now, (I CANNOT believe I am about to say this!!) I love the look of the Power Acoustiks Crypt series amps! I was thinking, for the same price, I could get the CPT1-5500. It is a little bigger, heavier and has 10A more fusing. Plus, it looks MUCH better I think. I would like to have a system that actually looks good for a change. Well, other than the "5500watt" and "Power Acoustik" LOL.

The only thing i don't like about the Power Acoustik is that, well, it is Power Acoustik. I know a buddy of mine was running a BAMF series 5500 and he clamped a clean 2500~ out of that. I assume it is probably the same setup just in a different case.

Of course, there is always the AP18001D for about the same price as those two...

Honestly the only PA amps I would mess with are the db series, if you need boom on a budget I would take an ap or a hifonics over anything in PA's line up

I don't think I could buy the Autotek... it is just too ugly for me, and blue lighting, WTF?!?!? my car is white with maroon interior, that would not work out. I want something I can "display" without it looking too bad.

Fair enough, Same thing was said about the MB Quart DSC series folks doubted them to hell and back then a review came out on the DSC2000 it was instant forum boner.

I might buy one just to play around with it.

Yeah...

I am thinking the AP18001D and AP2004. I am just really tempted with those PA amps. I know they over rate the hell out of their stuff and everyone hates them but... I also know how much people talk the same crap about SoundStream and I have used/loved their stuff for years.

Well, I saif F* it and bought the PA Crypt series... I bet it will put out a solid 1800-2000 rms @ 1ohm which is all I was looking for. I got the CPTI-5500D for the subs and the CPT4-1700 for the mids.

I will let you know what it clamps after a while. Now all I have left is to find some decent

you said it has 2 70 amp fuses? so does my discus 1500. so probably does 1500-1700ish. i could be wrong though
yeah... I will just have to clamp it and see what I get. The only real basis for comparison I have is that BAMF-5500D which I am pretty sure is the same amp just in a different case. Shane Ruggles (Basic Trunk champion, 151+ with a single 15" and 2Kw~) was using it in his daughters car and was getting a clean 2500~ out of it.
