New Audioque Subwoofer (HDC3) PICS

cant you just give us a general idea on how they performed at least?
Well, I guess, but there is no guaratee that the final sub is going to be anything like the ones I have. That being said........

The protos are really nice. They sound a little different than the HD3. Some will like it better, some may not. They have a deeper, smoother sound. Not quite as harsh as the HD3. The HD3 has a little more impact though, which is basically why they are a little harsh at times. Although it does have a little less impact, I haven't found a song that has a fast enough beat that it won't keep up, so the transient response it still very good. It never slurrs a note.

As far as SPL goes, I haven't done much with that yet. I've only been running it on a single m1a at 1 ohm. I did drag out the TL and meter it, and was pretty impressed for the small amount of power. The sub doesn't struggle at all with that amp on it. It was hotter than the pits of hell here yesterday, and the sub never got hot after extended full tilt listening sessions.

I know DJ is still playing with a few different things on this sub, so take these comments with a grain of salt. A couple of the coil options he was talking about trying could totally change the sound characteristics of the sub. As a customer I would be happy with it the way it is, but I think DJ wants to exhaust all options to make it the best it can be. I'm sure whatever he settles on will be the best all around package.

yea i was hoping to get the new hdc3 but i cant wait so i just copped the hd3 , im sure it will be just as good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif im not trying to set any records or anything , 145 huh thats preety good thats what im shooting for maybe a little bit higher //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

With a single 15 and an m1a at 1 ohm it did a 145 on the TL legal dash in a daily driver style box.
Sorry, it's a little OT, but have you ever ran your m1a @ .5?

I have one m1a and I was considering purchasing another.

Nice to know the little m1a gots some power behind it.

Not yet. I have 8 of them as you can tell from the one pic, but only 1 of them has been out of the box at this point, and I haven't ran it at any imp other than 1 ohm.

will i be able to swap motors to the old baskets ?? cuz later i can buy a motor and some soft parts if needed for cheaper then get the whole thing , if they do as good as everyone expects //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You mean using the old basket on the new motor?

yea like if i wanted to upgrade //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
If you have the old 4 spoke basket, I would say NO, but if you have the new style 12 spoke DD basket then maybe. I wouldn't sweat it either way. Baskets are less than 20 bucks.
