New Audiobahn Subs?

i've owned numerous audiobahns in the past immortals, high compression, sound qs and i've heard linear excursions, the only one thats was even remotely loud was the linear compression

I'm proud to be an idiot in this case. Audiobahn sucks in more than just their SPL or SQ output. You obviously don't know.

I have listened to many A-bahn systems, some have impressed, some havent. They can be made to sound good and get loud but many people just throw them in a premade enclosure and they have no idea what there doing.

for the price much better can be had. a good install can make anything look good, even works with audiobahns. i stand by my beliefs that they're a low quality sub but understand your point

I have listened to MANY audiobahn systems as well. They ****. Even if you put them in a proper enclosure, they still ****. Now let's drag up audiobahns customer service shall we? Three month repair time for an amp? What about ripped surrounds due to shipping that they (audiobahn) won't authorize an RMA? Man, you don't even know the half of it when it comes to audiobahn. If all you are worried about is how loud they get then fine, go bump your audiobahn sh!t all you want... just know you can get a much better system for the same price.

The funniest thing happened to me while at the local stereo shop. Person brought in two immortals 12" and one of the huge audiobahn amps (don't remember which). The shop built a box for them and tuned it to 60Hz for SPL competition. The box was absolutely immaculate (sanded ports, beveled edges, smoothed and rounded interior corners). They even spent about 3-4 hours properly tuning the car for the most pressure at the dash. The car in question was a Honda Civic SI (hatchback) and they had upgraded the alternator, the big 3, and had a semi-decent head unit. The speakers were all audiobahn crap (6.5 psuedo-component/coax speakers). It was horrid. Yes, it got stinkin loud but the sound quality was crap. The stereo competition (next day) went pretty well. We had a rep there from DEI, so no big deal. In the street competition the kid with the audiobahns didn't even rank in the top 10... 17 in all. The guy who won the street comp had two kicker 8" L7s pushed from a concept 2410 amp. I think he hit 152.1. The part I was impressed with... the L7s were very clean sounding... made the audiobahns sound crappier than they really were.

So... yes... audiobahn is crap. Period. Next.
