I'm sure this has been mentioned a 100 times, but just a real quick question...
I recently changed my setup from 2x JBL 600.1 amps to a single MTX 81000D. The JBL's never overheated, the MTX does after about 20 min of bumping...
I am, however, running only 4 gauge wire to the amp, which I know is under what I should be running, but could this really be the reason it's overheating so quickly? It does seem very hot to the touch, the gains aren't excessive, and hell, even if they were, it shouldn't overheat should it? I've ran Alpine amps maxed out on almost everything for hours without them over heating. Does MTX make crap amps? Everything I've heard of it was great.
Thanks in advance.
