New amp need to know about current sub setup

Hey guys, so I just bought a DD M1c but I'm currently running 2 RF P3 10's, which only handle 400 rms each (800 max). Wondering with the 1200 rms at 12v and 1500 charging if I can run these subs at a lower gain level until I can put the funds together to upgrade the subs or should I just run my current setup until I can afford new subs?. Would appreciate the assistance. Thanks.

run your new amp, set the gains correctly for your subs and you'll be fine.

You could also wire the subs to 4 ohms for now (assuming they are dual 4s) and probably end up with the correct amount of power coming from the amp
