New Amp help

I cooked my last amp so I went and bought a monster. It kicks the tar out of my subs for about 5 minutes then goes into protect mode as if it doesn't have enough juice or something to keep going. Any ideas? I'm thinking new battery.

you might have it wired to an ohm load that the amp cant handle. check the ohm load and see if the amp can handle that load, if not, youll have to rewire your subs to a new load

it's stable down to a 1 Ohm load. I've wired it 3 different ways and the same thing happens. It can't be over heating, I just don't know if not enough current is coming or what. I'm planning on probably taking it in to get it looked at

Audiobahn A2200HC 1600 x 1 @ 1 ohm. I have it wired @ 4 ohms @ 600 x 1. Running two audiobahn subs, forgot what model but they do 400 RMS, 800 Max. Got a ACAP1Q Capacitor with 4-gauge wire. My car is not old so I'm doubting alternator problems and Ohm load. Temperature can't be it either. I'm thinking maybe the short circuit protection is stopping it. I'm planning on redoing my grounding from the amp. Do you think I need to up to 2 Gauge wire? The amp accept 4 which means I would just have to use 4 at the end or cut it to fit. Cap reads 14.5 volts in operation so I'm doubting a voltage problem. Maybe not enough amps. I'm thinking the short circuit is the curse on my ride. Anyway...there's some more info. Any ideas or thoughts are highly appreciated.

Is you have probably read in your book

-RED ( protection ): The amplifier protection circuitry will disable the amplifier if input overload, short circuit or extreamely high temperature conditions are detected.

Like you said more than likely it isn't shutting off due to thermal limitations because the light would first be blue+red and shut down for thermal protection.

You will probably need to upgrade your wire gauge because of the current draw of the High current amps. That may be your problem.. or you may need a second battery though i doubt it since you are running a 600w x 1 @ 4 ohms. but any way Recheck you ground, or reground it somewhere else, recheck your power connections and recheck your input connections.
